With whom does myBookCorner share information?
myBookCorner does not share your information with any other "third parties"; i.e. other companies, individuals or organizations. We do not and will not "sell" member data to any advertisers, and nobody except us will ever contact you based on the information you provide to us. MyBookCorner is a small, family-run, nonprofit association whose sole goal is to encourage reading and literacy in our families and schools. Your member information is kept to enable you to enjoy the use of myBookCorner, and that is all.

What Information Do We Collect?
MyBookCorner keeps only the information you provide when you register as a member to use the site. Individually identifiable information that is kept: First Name, Last Name and Email Address (if provided). We deliberately do not ask for your street address, birthdate, etc. since this is not essential for use of myBookCorner. Our policy is to protect your privacy by only asking for the information we need.

myBookCorner and your school/book club
Every myBookCorner member belongs to a "book club", wherein every member can see the books other members have entered. Typically, in a school situation, this "club" is composed of other students in your grade or classroom. Also, where applicable, the School Page shows student books from all students in the school; therefore, your books can be seen by students in other grades.
myBookCorner and other schools
As part of the effort to introduce the myBookCorner bookclub to other schools, demonstrations may be provided to teachers, administrators or parents from these schools. These demonstrations may use live school information, including some student results (such as the School Page). However, other schools that use myBookCorner on an ongoing basis will only be able to see information from within their school; students from SchoolA wil not be able to see student information from SchoolB. (Occasionally, when students change schools, they are allowed to keep their former myBookCorner membership going so that they can continue to communicate with former classmates.)

Members: protect your privacy
When you register for myBookCorner membership, you create a username, password and secret question/answer for your account. This information must remain secret, and it is up to you to keep it that way. Do not take a username or password that can be easily guessed by others. Never tell anyone but your parents your secret information; otherwise, someone else could log on to your myBookCorner account.
MyBookCorner and Cookies
When you log on to myBookCorner, myBookCorner keeps a temporary "cookie" on your computer. A cookie is a piece of data that identifies you as a registered member of myBookCorner. After you log on, your cookie helps us to know who you are as you navigate from page to page. For example, when you add a book, your cookie tells us to record the book under your account, and only your account. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies, but myBookCorner will not work under these conditions (your account will continuously "timeout"). Unlike many sites, your myBookCorner cookie only exists while you are logged on. When you click "log out", or close your browser, your myBookCorner cookie disappears.

The Fine Print
Although myBookCorner will not knowingly share your information as we have stated above, we cannot provide guarantees against hackers and other evil guys. Although we have taken extensive security precautions, there are a lot of highly intelligent people on the Internet that have malicious intent. We cannot absolutely guarantee our safeguards will never fail, in which case member data could be disclosed, altered or deleted in the worst cases. That is why we store only the absolute minimum we need from our members.
Your consent and changes to the Privacy Policy
By using the myBookCorner site, you consent to the collection and use of your information as we have outlined in this policy. Should myBookCorner need to make material changes in this privacy policy, we will notify all our members by e-mail. In this way, you will always be aware of the information we collect, how we use it and who can see it.
